e-Advantage celebrates

In December, e-Advantage partners celebrated the end of the project in London.

Despite the setbacks over the last couple of years, we are thrilled that over 300 women found out more about peer e-mentoring by registering on our e-Advantage platform and almost 200 took part in developing and testing our model of online peer mentoring and peer mentor training. Now, 160 peer e-mentors have been trained by the project and our training model will continue to be used in partner countries of Romania, Czech Republic, Italy and Spain.  The next course starts on 7 February in Romania.

To mark the end of the project, we held a networking event in Wandsworth attended by nearly 100 people – many of whom were women that had taken part in the project as mentors and mentees. We heard from charismatic business-women from the UK and Romania about their own experiences of peer mentoring and its power to change lives.

Even more importantly, our audience, who were primarily mature women, spent time discussing what they had to offer as peer mentors and other ideas such as the need for regular, safe meeting places on and offline. Many felt that projects like e-Advantage gave them the opportunity to be acknowledged and heard – perhaps for the first time.

In London, although sadly we can no longer participate in Erasmus+ projects, we are delighted that our partners will build on the work of e-Advantage by continuing together to create projects that promote peer e-mentoring as well as other business opportunities for older women. Special congratulations to the participants from Romania who have already created their own women’s mentoring network KompleMentor (https://komplementor.ro/kapcsolat// https://www.facebook.com/komplementor.
